Outdoor support rod polymer insulators with organosilicon protective sheath of IOSK 4/10 UHL1 type are designed for insulation and fastening of live parts in electrical apparatuses, switchgears of power plants and AC substations with a voltage of up to 10 kV. As an element that absorbs mechanical loads, insulators use a high-strength fiberglass rod, which is commensurate in strength with alloyed structural steels. The highhydrophobicity of the protectivesheath made of organosilicon rubber (silicone) in almost any conditions of contaminationensures low leakage currents (1 – 2 orders of magnitude lower than that of porcelain insulators), which, in turn, increases the discharge characteristics and has a positive effect on energy saving.The insulator has several modifications in terms of construction height, length of leakage path and dimensions of fastening holes in the flanges.
